| 21 | فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِينَ | |
| সকালে তারা একে অপরকে ডেকে বলল, | As the morning broke, they called out, one to another,- | |
| 22 | أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِينَ | |
| তোমরা যদি ফল আহরণ করতে চাও, তবে সকাল সকাল ক্ষেতে চল। | "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if ye would gather the fruits." | |
| 23 | فَانْطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ | |
| অতঃপর তারা চলল ফিসফিস করে কথা বলতে বলতে, | So they departed, conversing in secret low tones, (saying)- | |
| 24 | أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِسْكِينٌ | |
| অদ্য যেন কোন মিসকীন ব্যক্তি তোমাদের কাছে বাগানে প্রবেশ করতে না পারে। | "Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day." | |
| 25 | وَغَدَوْا عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَادِرِينَ | |
| তারা সকালে লাফিয়ে লাফিয়ে সজোরে রওয়ানা হল। | And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve. | |
| 26 | فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَضَالُّونَ | |
| অতঃপর যখন তারা বাগান দেখল, তখন বললঃ আমরা তো পথ ভূলে গেছি। | But when they saw the (garden), they said: "We have surely lost our way: | |
| 27 | بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ | |
| বরং আমরা তো কপালপোড়া, | "Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)!" | |
| 28 | قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ | |
| তাদের উত্তম ব্যক্তি বললঃ আমি কি তোমাদেরকে বলিনি? এখনও তোমরা আল্লাহ তা’আলার পবিত্রতা বর্ণনা করছো না কেন? | Said one of them, more just (than the rest): "Did I not say to you, 'Why not glorify (Allah)?'" | |
| 29 | قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ | |
| তারা বললঃ আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করছি, নিশ্চিতই আমরা সীমালংঘনকারী ছিলাম। | They said: "Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!" | |
| 30 | فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَاوَمُونَ | |
| অতঃপর তারা একে অপরকে ভৎর্সনা করতে লাগল। | Then they turned, one against another, in reproach. | |
| 31 | قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ | |
| তারা বললঃ হায়! দুর্ভোগ আমাদের আমরা ছিলাম সীমাতিক্রমকারী। | They said: "Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed! | |
| 32 | عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَا أَنْ يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُونَ | |
| সম্ভবতঃ আমাদের পালনকর্তা পরিবর্তে এর চাইতে উত্তম বাগান আমাদেরকে দিবেন। আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে আশাবাদী। | "It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in repentance)!" | |
| 33 | كَذَٰلِكَ الْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ | |
| শাস্তি এভাবেই আসে এবং পরকালের শাস্তি আরও গুরুতর; যদি তারা জানত! | Such is the Punishment (in this life); but greater is the Punishment in the Hereafter,- if only they knew! | |
| 34 | إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ | |
| মোত্তাকীদের জন্যে তাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে রয়েছে নেয়ামতের জান্নাত। | Verily, for the Righteous, are Gardens of Delight, in the Presence of their Lord. | |
| 35 | أَفَنَجْعَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالْمُجْرِمِينَ | |
| আমি কি আজ্ঞাবহদেরকে অপরাধীদের ন্যায় গণ্য করব? | Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? | |
| 36 | مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ | |
| তোমাদের কি হল ? তোমরা কেমন সিদ্ধান্ত দিচ্ছ? | What is the matter with you? How judge ye? | |
| 37 | أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَابٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ | |
| তোমাদের কি কোন কিতাব আছে, যা তোমরা পাঠ কর। | Or have ye a book through which ye learn- | |
| 38 | إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ | |
| তাতে তোমরা যা পছন্দ কর, তাই পাও? | That ye shall have, through it whatever ye choose? | |
| 39 | أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ | |
| না তোমরা আমার কাছ থেকেকেয়ামত পর্যন্ত বলবৎ কোন শপথ নিয়েছ যে, তোমরা তাই পাবে যা তোমরা সিদ্ধান্ত করবে? | Or have ye Covenants with Us to oath, reaching to the Day of Judgment, (providing) that ye shall have whatever ye shall demand? | |
| 40 | سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ | |
| আপনি তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করুন তাদের কে এ বিষয়ে দায়িত্বশীল? | Ask thou of them, which of them will stand surety for that! | |
